Our story
Travel as
belonging.
Serandiva Travels is a small team of islanders, returnees and curious friends who believe that the richest route is the one that leaves room for a real conversation.
A field note from Colombo · 06° 55′ N
We came back
looking closer.
Our first itineraries were drawn over kitchen tables in Colombo, with a pot of tea between us and a list of names rather than hotels. A retired railway guard. A cousin who grows cinnamon. The woman who makes the best pol sambol in the south.
Sri Lanka is not a checklist. It is the sound of a temple bell carrying over a lake, the sudden sweetness of a king coconut, the hush just before an elephant steps into view.
We make private journeys for people who want to meet the island at eye level. That might mean a morning in the market before the shutters rise, or a long lunch that turns into a lesson in family history. It is travel with texture, not theatre.

Make the island
feel close.
Not every day needs a landmark. Sometimes the most generous thing we can give you is an afternoon without a plan.
Relationships first
Our hosts are people we know, trust and return to. Their welcome is never an add-on.
A lighter footprint
We favour slower transfers, local specialists and stays that reinvest in their surroundings.
Room for surprise
A good plan has structure. A great one leaves a little space for the unexpected.

Follow the
fragrant thread.
Cinnamon bark curls beneath a knife. Cardamom opens like a small green secret. In the spice gardens, the distance between ingredient and memory is only a few steps.
